A 1920's Spanish Mission style building on the Balmoral Beach shoreline, undertakes a Mediterranean-luxe renovation by Luchetti Krelle.

An icon of the Balmoral Beach shoreline for almost 100 years, Bather’s Pavilion is a majestic Spanish Mission-style building with an imitable charm. Built during 1928 in response to an increased interest in public swimming, today it houses a number of dining and drinking spaces, finished with bespoke furniture and Australian art.

The owners commissioned Luchetti Krelle to revitalise the interior with a 1920’s Med-luxe vibe. Stripe motifs carry throughout the various dining and drinking spaces, applied on furniture and fixtures. Luchetti Krelle selected designs from the Diane Bergeron for Arthur G collection, namely the Collette Sofa, Peyton Sofa and custom Jacquie Chairs.

The arguable hero of this dining area (and best seat in the room) belongs to the custom Jacquie Chairs. Working with the Luchetti Krelle design team and our manufacturing team, the proportions of the Jacquie Chair were slimmed down and cutouts employed in the arms. This revised silhouette is not only lighter on the eye, but better suited to restaurant dining.

Peyton Sofa by Diane Bergeron

Moving further back into the restaurant, a series of Diane Bergeron Peyton Sofas were selected for dining over banquet seating. A commercially suitable navy velvet, offset by an alabaster white ribbon trim on the seat back, gives this part of the restaurant a more formal feel in its coastal setting.

Timeless and irresistibly comfortable, the Peyton has tailored ribbon seat cushions, brass castors and bolster cushions included as standard. Classic detailing with contemporary colours, ensures the Peyton is irrevocably relevant and has a broad application.

Collette Sofas by Diane Bergeron

Positioned to look out onto Balmoral Beach, the bar area employs small scale Collette Sofas, elevated for drinking and dining. As the most popular design in the Diane Bergeron for Arthur G collection, the Collette is available in a number of configurations including a chair, chaise and sofa. Using upholstery from Diane Bergeron’s own collection (a small scale Indian wood block print), Astor Coral, offers a refreshing juxtaposition from the blue and white hues used throughout the building.

The Diane Bergeron for Arthur G collection is manufactured and available exclusively through Arthur G. View the collection at an Arthur G showroom or online here.
